In January of 2020, the Larsen Lam ICONIC Impact Award was launched, a global competition offering $10 million (USD) to support the well-being of refugees around the world.
While so many people are grappling to understand their own circumstances, many have proposed game-changing solutions for one of the most vulnerable populations on the planet: families and children who have been forcibly displaced by war, conflict, and persecution.
At the time, COVID was a distant threat, and no one could anticipate the effects of a pandemic. As everyone "sheltered in place," we wondered how the public would respond to this important cause. We have been amazed by the range and quality of the proposals that we've received. This morning, our partners at Lever for Change and ICONIQ Impact have announced that the Larsen Lam ICONIQ Impact Award has significantly expanded. A total of $24.25 million in funding has been committed to distribute to the five Finalist organizations dedicated to improving the lives of refugees. This increase in funding is a testament to the importance of the cause and the quality of the response.
